The Kansas Bluegrass Association
Whether you’re a bluegrass picker or a bluegrass enthusiast, everyone is welcome at events sponsored by the Kansas Bluegrass Association (KBA), a non-profit organization promoting bluegrass music in the state of Kansas.
The KBA sponsors many bluegrass-related events throughout the year: a weekly jam on Sundays, monthly picking picnics at regional and state camping areas, and we organize our annual Winter Bluegrass Festival the third weekend in February, which includes workshops, multiple indoor picking areas, vendors and, of course, national and regional touring bluegrass bands. The festival is held in Wichita, Kans.
To encourage youth participation, the KBA sponsors the fabulous Treblemakers, a nationally touring youth bluegrass band. We feature a junior showcase at our Winterfest, which allows area youth to experience the stage and show off their talent.
Members receive a monthly newsletter, with news about KBA events, regional bluegrass events, bluegrass artists, and more. KBA membership is $20 a year.
